Description

A defining leadership opportunity at the heart of east London.

Barts Health is one of the largest and most influential healthcare organisations in the country, serving a diverse population of more than two million people across north east London while playing a leading role in shaping healthcare nationally. Operating at scale but delivering locally through our five hospitals, we have a unique opportunity to improve outcomes, reduce inequalities and set the standard for modern, integrated care.

We are now seeking a Chief Executive for Whipps Cross Hospital, a major acute hospital with a proud history and an ambitious future.

As a member of the Group Executive and Trust Board, you will play a key role in shaping the wider strategy of Barts Health while leading Whipps Cross through a period of significant opportunity and change. You will be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality and efficient services, while building a strong, inclusive culture that enables our people to deliver their best for patients.

This role offers a unique platform to lead both operational improvement and long-term transformation. You will play a central role in the Whipps Cross redevelopment programme, a once-in-a-generation investment that will transform facilities, pathways and patient experience, while continuing the hospital’s journey towards outstanding quality and performance.

As the Trust’s place-based leader in Waltham Forest, you will work in close partnership with local authorities, the integrated care system and community partners to improve health outcomes and tackle inequalities. You will be a visible and credible leader externally, able to bring people together to deliver meaningful change at scale.

We are looking for an exceptional, values-led leader with the credibility to operate at Board level in a complex organisation and the ambition to drive change at scale. With a strong track record of delivering improvement in complex healthcare environments, you will combine strategic clarity with strong operational leadership, alongside the ability to build inclusive cultures and inspire multidisciplinary teams.

This is a rare opportunity to make a lasting impact, leading transformation at a major London hospital while contributing to the direction of one of the NHS’s most ambitious and progressive organisations.

If you are motivated by transformation, partnership and improving lives at scale, we would be delighted to hear from you.
